During standby time, crane operators perform daily equipment inspections checking fluid levels, testing safety systems, and documenting any mechanical issues in their operator logbooks. They maintain constant radio communication with rigging crews, spotters, and site supervisors to coordinate upcoming lifts and adjust positioning as needed.
