How do I determine if a site's 'Headroom' can accommodate a low-profile overhead crane?

SPEC-002 · Specs
Measure your building height and subtract the crane's total hook height (bridge height + hoist height + hook block) plus 18-24 inches safety clearance.
To determine headroom compatibility, first measure the clear height from floor to the lowest obstruction (beams, ducts, lights). Next, calculate the crane's total vertical requirement by adding the bridge girder depth, hoist unit height, and hook block height. Low-profile cranes typically require 3-6 feet less headroom than standard designs by using compact hoist configurations and reduced girder depths.
Reference: ASME B30.2 Overhead and Gantry Cranes safety standard
Remember: "Building Height - Bridge - Hoist - Hook - 2 feet = Headroom Check" (BH-BHH-2)
