How do you calculate sling tension and load control for a spreader beam lift with uneven end reactions?

RIGX-004 · Rigging
Calculate each sling tension using load distribution percentages and sling angle factors. Account for load imbalance through moment equilibrium equations.
For uneven end reactions on spreader beam lifts, determine the load distribution percentage at each attachment point through structural analysis or manufacturer specifications. Calculate individual sling tensions by multiplying the distributed load by the sling angle factor (1/sin θ for vertical loads). The heavier end will create higher sling tensions that must not exceed working load limits.
Reference: ASME B30.9 Rigging Hardware Standard
Remember: DAME: Distribute load, Angle factors, Moment equilibrium, Exceed capacity limits for uneven spreader beam calculations.
